Casting, one of the old manufacturing techniques, involves pouring molten metal into molds and allowing it to solidify into the desired shape. The labor, material consumption, and craftsmanship required for casting justify higher prices, and the durability of cast pieces appeals to serious home cooks and culinary professionals who view cookware as a long-term investment.
